Inboard Technology Rolls with Backbone Media

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (August 16, 2018) – Inboard Technology, a company committed to urban  transportation solutions and the creator of the best-selling M1 Electric Skateboard, has hired Backbone Media as its public relations agency of record.

Co-founded by a mechanical engineer and a former professional kiteboarder, Inboard launched the M1 Electric Skateboard in 2015. Featuring dual in-wheel motors, a regenerative braking system, a swappable battery, and a phone app for firmware updates, the M1 quickly became the benchmark for electric skateboards. After the success of the M1, Inboard is now looking to use its expertise to develop other portable and affordable transportation devices.

“Our goal at Inboard is to provide transportation solutions that allow people to flow through urban environments effectively and enjoyably,” said Inboard co-founder and CEO, Ryan Evans. “Backbone’s previous experience, not only in active lifestyle markets, but in the tech and travel industries, makes them a perfect partner for us.”

Inboard envisions a world where transportation does not revolve around cars. Oftentimes commuters live within several miles of train stations or other transportation options but have no convenient method of getting to them. The M1 Skateboard is an efficient and portable transportation solution that solves this “last mile” problem.
