BRP AND SKI-DOO PASSIONATELY SUPPORTING ISMA-LED “TAKE THE PLEDGE” EFFORT
Valcourt, Quebec, November 11, 2021 — BRP and its Ski-Doo brand of snowmobiles recently helped launch the International Snowmobile Manufacturers Association’s (ISMA) “Take the Pledge” initiative, strongly supporting its message of maintaining access for all snowmobilers by riding only where legal and permission has been granted.
The Take the Pledge initiative stemmed from concerns raised by landowners, public land managers, clubs and associations of riders going off trail on private property or in areas designated as protected or wildlife habitat. In the eastern part of North America, most trail networks rely heavily on private landowners providing access to their property to route trails. In western North America there are designated Wilderness or wildlife protected areas that riders need to respect. If the sport loses access because of illegal activities, survival of this awesome winter pastime is threatened, as are many rural economies that depend on winter tourism dollars.
The objective of The Pledge is help educate and shape rider behaviors, so they realize what legal access is and how to avoid riding where it’s not legal. It’s supported by all five ISMA snowmobile brands with video messages featuring recognizable spokespeople so clubs, associations and even individuals can easily share the message. BRP’s CEO, Jose Boisjoli, so strongly supports this initiative that he also created video messages to help with the effort and Ski-Doo has created many unique digital assets to spread the word on their channels.
Both ISMA and BRP expect this effort to be an ongoing campaign that will ultimately resonate and be effective in helping preserve access and the sport.
