CAKE Charts Path to Zero Emission Lifestyle with Backbone Media

The electric motorcycles combine the excitement of riding with environmental responsibility.

STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN (May 13, 2021) – CAKE, the world’s leading manufacturer of premium, lightweight, electric motorcycles, has partnered with Backbone Media as its official public relations agency of record. With a proven track record of success, CAKE founder – and brainchild of POC – Stefan Ytterborn and the team at Backbone Media will collaborate to amplify CAKE’s mission and work together to grow its North American footprint.

Founded in 2016, CAKE’s mission is to inspire people toward a zero-emission society while combining excitement with responsibility. CAKE pursues this mission by developing lightweight electric motorcycles to aid in solving urban and suburban transportation problems, and providing a tool for exploring nature without disrupting it. Because they weigh several hundred pounds less than their fossil fuel-powered counterparts and do not require riders to manage a clutch or shift gears, CAKE bikes make riding motorcycles more accessible to more riders.

“We combine purpose, innovation, performance, and quality to create durable, high-performance bikes that blend fun with responsibility. Our motorcycles allow riders to explore with respect while fulfilling our obligation to planet earth” said founder Stefan Ytterborn.

CAKE produces several models of its high-performance bike, the Kalk, for off-road racers and freeriders, as well as street legal versions. The brand has two models of the versatile and utilitarian commuter bike called the Ösa. CAKE’s product lineup also boasts the Kalk AP, a limited edition off-road bike designed in partnership with the Southern African Wildlife College and Goal Zero to help in the fight against poaching in Africa’s National Parks.

“Backbone is thrilled to work with CAKE,” comments Penn Newhard, President at Backbone Media. “Rarely do you have the opportunity to work on a new project that is truly innovative and forward thinking with a team with which you have experience, trust, and a strong prior working relationship.” The Swedish brand has collected dozens of design awards to date, including but not limited to the 2021 German Design Award and the Swedish Design Award.
