Kodiak Steps into New Territory in Fall ’21 Collection
Cambridge, Ontario, September 22, 2021 – Kodiak, the 110-year-old boot brand, is adding both more trail and urban inspiration to its Fall 2021 line. A new “sniker” collection that blends sneaker comfort and aesthetics with legitimate hiker performance, as well as several new urban boot styles highlight the Fall collection.
“With our snikers we wanted to blend comfort, performance and a modern look to help consumers get outside, no matter the conditions,” said Karen McSorley, senior brand manager. “Our new Kindersley brings an updated aesthetic to an alpine hiking boot, but with sneaker comfort. We are also excited to use PrimaLoft’s P.U.R.E. insulation and LITE Leathers from ISA TanTec, working toward our goal of more environmentally-considered products.”
The Kindersley is a waterproof, alpine-style urban hiker with a padded suede tongue and mesh padded collar, combined with PrimaLoft© P.U.R.E.™ insulation, which emits 48 percent less carbon in the manufacturing process. A lightweight, compression-molded EVA midsole and KODIAK® Comfortzone® ECO footbed keep feet dry and comfortable with less environmental impact. The Kindersley includes Kodiak’s signature slip-resistant rubber outsole and 100 percent recycled plastic shoelaces (MSRP $170 USD/$210 CAN).
The Takla boasts many of the Kindersley attributes, but in a Chelsea style hiker. The Takla has Imper-X© water-resistant construction, a microfiber lining and heavy gauge pull-loops (MSRP $150 USD/$190 CAN).
Adding to Kodiak’s “Built For The Trail” collection is the Stave, a modern light hiker. The Stave features premium full-grain waterproof LITE leather and suede, built with a 100 percent recycled plastic lining, a mesh collar, tongue and 50 percent recycled plastic laces. Also featuring the new KODIAK® Comfortzone® ECO footbed, PrimaLoft© P.U.R.E.™ insulation and Kodiak’s signature slip-resistant outsole (MSRP $175 USD/$200 CAN).
Also new for 2021 are the Chadsey for Women and the Tagish for men, full-featured cold climate boots. Both styles are built with PrimaLoft© P.U.R.E.™ insulation and Vibram© Arctic Grip™ outsoles for traction in even the most slick winter conditions. The Chadsey is a waterproof leather winter boot with 100 percent recycled plastic textile and a removeable, recycled polyester Ortholite© footbed to keep your feet warm as well as styled all day ($180 USD/$220 CAN).
The Tagish has a waterproof full grain leather upper, an oversized premium suede padded comfort collar and is comfort rated to -20°C/-4°F temperatures ($190 USD/$240 CAN).
