CARBONDALE, Colo. (Dec. 18, 2020) – Backbone Media, the country’s leading active lifestyle media agency, today announced numerous new hires across multiple departments. With a growing roster of clients and a continued focus on digital media services, the agency has brought on 17 new employees.

Backbone’s recent new clients include Ooni Pizza Ovens, Urban Armor Gear, Lumos Solar, KC HiLiTES, Wheel Pros and Solo Stove.

Billy Hulbert has been hired as a Senior Affiliate Manager for the agency’s growing portfolio of brands that have tapped Backbone for affiliate marketing management. Hulbert has a mix of agency experience and has driven marketing revenue for a variety of brands across the financial and food and beverage industries. He holds a bachelor’s in marketing from Penn State University.

As part of Backbone’s Search Engine Marketing department, Tony Hines has started as an Associate Manager. Hines spent two years before joining Backbone working in paid search, search engine optimization and paid social media. He is a recent Denver transplant from Florida and a graduate of Old Dominion University.

April Morlock has been hired in the role of Social Media Strategist. Morlock launched Free People’s first global brand ambassador program, and in her role as the brand’s creative marketing manager, she led the creative for marketing campaigns, oversaw brand partnerships and managed strategy. She graduated from the University of Alaska, where she studied marketing.

Lesli Carlson, Meg Weldon, Kendall Gordon and Delaney Wood have joined Backbone’s PR team. Carlson was most recently a senior account supervisor at Turner PR. There, she led a variety of travel and hospitality accounts for the agency. Prior to Turner, Carlson worked at Vail Resorts in corporate communications. She is an alumna of University of Colorado Boulder and lives in Denver.

Gordon joins Backbone from Denver-based SchroderHaus, and before that, she spent seven years at Golin’s Chicago headquarters. Her client experience includes Walmart, Tylenol, McDonald’s and other leading national consumer brands. Gordon graduated from the University of Michigan, where she studied communications and psychology.

Before working for Backbone, Weldon was employed at MullenLowe in Boston, where she contributed her public relations and social media skills to several high-profile clients, including JetBlue, Truly Hard Seltzer and American Greetings. She has a bachelor’s from the University of Wyoming.

Wood, a graduate of Northeastern University, joins Backbone with several years of agency experience working in active lifestyle public relations. She is a PR account manager at Backbone.
